The authors' suggestion that contextualization is a better way to predict where science is heading sounds like a reasonable one given the shortcomings of reductionism and wholism. That is assuming that prediction is possible. The discussion of measuring complexity using the example of a city-dweller and a jungle-dweller reminded me of the Crocodile Dundee films, some of my favorite movies.
